In a significant engagement aimed at fostering strategic partnerships for regional development, Aka Ikenga, the foremost think tank of Igbo professionals and intellectuals, paid a high-level visit to His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.

Led by our 10th President, Dr. Agbalanze Chike Madueke, the delegation met with the Governor at his country home in Umuehim Nvosi. The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the Aka Ikenga Seal of Commendation — a prestigious symbol of recognition for exceptional leadership and visionary governance.

Partnership for Progress

During the visit, our leadership outlined Aka Ikenga’s renewed strategic agenda: to galvanize the collective strength of Igbo professionals—both at home and in the diaspora—to channel investments into Abia State. Key areas of focus include infrastructure renewal, regional integration, and enhanced security across the South-East.

Dr. Madueke emphasized our core values: Aku Ruo Ulo (bringing wealth home) and Ako n’ Uche (wisdom and thoughtfulness), underscoring the imperative for Ndi Igbo abroad to reinvest in their homeland and shape its future.

“We commend you for the good work you are doing in Abia State and in the region,” Dr. Madueke stated while presenting the Seal. “We want to partner with you for the progress of Abia State and Igboland.”

A Willing Partner in Governance

Governor Otti, in his response, expressed appreciation for the honour and affirmed his administration’s openness to strategic partnerships that will drive development.

“Abia is open for business and partnership—even with those who are not indigenes,” he said. “No state or nation is built solely by its own people. It takes inclusive effort.”

The Governor also highlighted notable achievements of his government, including improved security, ongoing infrastructure projects, and the planned establishment of a new technology hub—further positioning Abia as an attractive destination for investment.

A Unified Vision

Prince Anthony Nwakaeze, who represented the Association of Computer Village Technology Merchants of Nigeria and was part of the Aka Ikenga delegation, praised Governor Otti’s inclusive and forward-thinking leadership style. He reaffirmed our association’s commitment to mobilizing our global network in support of Abia’s socio-economic growth.

At Aka Ikenga, we believe that the time has come to rebuild, reimagine, and reinvest in the homeland. Our engagement with the Abia State Government is one of many steps we are taking to actualize this mission.

Together, we build. Together, we rise.
